Associate Professor in the Geography and the Environment programme at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. PhD. in Biological Sciences (Botany) from the University of Texas, Austin, USA. Master of Biology from the University of Michigan, USA; bachelor in Forest Sciences from the National Agrarian University La Molina, Peru. Research areas: biogeography of the Andes; plant ecology; taxonomy; statistical modeling of the distribution of biodiversity; impact of climate change on terrestrial ecosystems. He is currently Associate Professor in the Geography and Environment section of the PUCP and professor in the Master's Program in Biocommerce and Sustainable Development of the PUCP. Research professor at INTE-PUCP and the Center for Research in Applied Geography (CIGA). Member of the Geographic Society of Lima.
